About
Once the capital of Japan for over a thousand years, Kyoto today is world-famous for the sheer amount of Japanese history one can find there. The city is a treasure trove of historic temples, shrines, and traditional wooden houses. Among its most iconic landmarks are the Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion), known for its stunning reflection in the surrounding pond; Fushimi Inari Shrine, famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates; and the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, offering a serene and picturesque walk through towering bamboo stalks. Kyoto is also celebrated for its traditional tea ceremonies, where visitors can experience the art of Japanese tea preparation and presentation. And seasonal festivals like the Gion Matsuri, with its elaborate floats and street processions, highlight Kyoto’s vibrant cultural traditions.

【About Oyamazaki City, Kyoto Prefecture (京都府大山崎町)】
Oyamazaki possesses a historical and cultural weight that far exceeds its small size. Located at a strategic point between the Katsura, Uji, and Kizu Rivers, it is famously known as the site of the Battle of Yamazaki (1582), where Toyotomi Hideyoshi secured his path to unifying Japan. Today, the town is a pilgrimage site for connoisseurs of fine spirits and art. It hosts the world-renowned Suntory Yamazaki Distillery, the birthplace of Japanese whisky. There's also the Asahi Beer Oyamazaki Villa Museum, where one can see Monet’s Water Lilies in a building designed by Tadao Ando. For history buffs there is the Taian teahouse, the only remaining tea room designed by the legendary Sen no Rikyu. Oyamazaki offers a quiet, refined atmosphere that serves as a perfect cultural bridge between the largercities of Kyoto and Osaka. Make it you teaching destination for 2026.
