Borderlink, Inc. is now hiring Assistant Language Teachers (ALT) for Tsuru City, Yamanashi Prefecture. These positions start in April 2025, but you can apply now to secure one in advance. 【Position Details】
Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) work alongside Japanese teachers to make English lessons fun and engaging for the students. Practicing grammar and vocabulary, participating in games and activities to reinforce the lesson’s goals and communicating with students both inside and outside of the classroom are all part of a day’s work for ALTs.
⚫ Contract period: April 8th, 2025 to March 25th, 2026
⚫ Contract type: Full-time
⚫ Level: Kindergarten, elementary and/or junior high school
⚫ General working hours: Between 8:00 am to 16:30 pm (actual working time: 07 hours 00 minutes)
⚫ Salary range: Between 220,000 yen to 245,000 yen / month
⚫ Benefits: Social Insurance, Paid holidays (as stipulated by the contract)
【Requirements】
ALTs should be motivated, enthusiastic, professional and proactive in communicating with others. Successful applicants must also meet the following criteria:
🔺 Already be living in Japan and hold a valid visa permitting work
🔺 Have native-level English proficiency with natural phonetic fluency and a minimum of 12 years of education where the main language of instruction in all classes was English
🔺Be a university graduate holding a bachelor's degree or higher
🔺 Have conversational Japanese skills and be comfortable talking with teachers and staff
🔺 Are in good health and able to commit and complete the contract period (until March 2026)
🔺 Highly motivated, outgoing and friendly; able to proactively share ideas and communicate fully with other teachers
🔺 Hold a valid Japanese Driver's License or International Driving Permit (IDP) and be able to drive a car in Japan.

【About Tsuru City (山梨県都留市】
Tsuru is a city in Yamanashi located near the foothills of the Japanese Alps, northeast of Mount Fuji. Tsuru has a rich history dating all the way back to the Japanese Paleolithic period. Over time, it would develop to become a hub for trade and agriculture famous for fruits such as peaches and grapes. Local attractions include the Yamanashi Prefectural Maglev Exhibition Center, Hokyoji Temple, and Tsuru's signature attractions, the iconic Tahara Falls. Tsuru has its own university, founded in 1953. It also has eight public elementary schools and three public middle schools- and you could teach at some of them very soon!
