【Position Details】
Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) work alongside Japanese teachers to make English lessons fun and engaging for the students. Practicing grammar and vocabulary, participating in games and activities to reinforce the lesson’s goals and communicating with students both inside and outside of the classroom are all part of a day’s work for ALTs.
⚫ Contract period: Immediate to March 25th, 2026
⚫ Contract type: Full-time
⚫ Level: Elementary school
⚫ General working hours: Between 7:45 am to 18:00 pm (actual working time: 7 hours 15 minutes)
⚫ Salary range: Between 237,000 yen to 250,000 yen (monthly rate)
⚫ Benefits: Social insurance, paid holidays (as stipulated by the contract)
【Requirements】
ALTs should be motivated, enthusiastic, professional and proactive in communicating with others. Successful applicants must also meet the following criteria:
🔺 Already be living in Japan and hold a valid visa permitting work
🔺 Be a university graduate holding a bachelor's degree or higher
🔺 Have conversational Japanese skills and be comfortable talking with teachers and staff
🔺 Have native-level English proficiency with natural phonetic fluency and a minimum of 12 years of education where the main language of instruction in all classes was English
🔺 Are in good health and able to commit and complete the contract period (until March 2026)
🔺Have prior ALT experience in Japan

Another of the 23 special wards, Kita is located on the edge of central Tokyo. Although it is part of the greater city of Tokyo, it has a distinct homey feel. Kita Ward boasts a lot of nature, including Asukayama park and the Arakawa and Sumida Rivers, but also great access to everywhere you want to go in Saitama and Tokyo. The English program in Kita is very advanced, with Kita having its own original curriculum. English classes even start from grade 1 in elementary school. 【About Part-Time Positions】
Please note that this position will have you working anywhere between 1 to 5 days per week, but the hours are the same as a full school day (shift between 8:00 to 18:00). Daily-rate positions are recommended for those with easily adaptable and flexible schedules in their other work.
