About
A large landlocked prefecture north of Tokyo, Saitama has it all: major urban centers, rural farmland, suburban communities, and just about everything in between. Saitama's most popular area for tourism lies in the northwestern part of the prefecture, also known as the Chichibu Region. Consisting of hilly and mountainous areas, it is home to a rich environment that offers a great opportunity to see a more natural side of Saitama. Other parts of the prefecture are more flat and spacious, allowing for considerable urban development. Major cities such as Saitama City, Kawaguchi or Kawagoe offer plenty to see and do, both modern and traditional. A great area for those who wish to commute into Tokyo for work, Saitama is also a splendid place to live and work in itself.
