About
Located just north of the Kanto region, Fukushima is a land of many faces. It has rural farmland, urban cities, and great swathes of residential coastline. Despite the challenges posed by the 2011 earthquake and nuclear disaster, Fukushima has made great strides in recovery and is known for its efforts to revitalize its communities and agricultural spirit. The area produces many high-quality products such as peaches and rice. Fukushima also features beautiful natural attractions, such as the lush Bandai-Asahi National Park. This area includes Mount Bandai and Lake Inawashiro, offering opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking and boating. Fukushima is also renowned for its historic sites, including the ancient Aizuwakamatsu Castle and the picturesque Ouchi-juku post town, which preserves the charm of the Edo period. The area is known for its hot springs, with popular resorts like Iizaka Onsen and Yumoto Onsen providing relaxing experiences. If you want something a little more modern, the famous Spa Resort Hawaiians is as charming as the story behind the creation of its famous hula troupe.
